I used IBM RecordNow software to transfer a music CD to a TEMP file,
but stopped the process before burning onto a disk ( IO realized
halfway throught that I had no available disks!). Is there a way to
retrive the music files form the TEMP file and convert them to a
playable format? I tried renaming to .wav or .cda but no application
will open the file. Any suggestions?

Try name it as global-image file, .gi, and then load it in RecordNow?
