View Full Version : CD Burner Light Blinking Rapidly

I have an Artec WRA-WA48 CD-Burner that has begun acting strangely.
Now, when I insert any CD, either blank or not, it acts like it is
trying to read it, that is to say that the light blinks periodically
and in XP the CD symbol blinks above the cursor. That is what it has
normally done but instead of the message popping up and asking me what
I want to do with the disk the light on the drive begins blinking very
rapidly and it does this until the disk is ejected. The disk ejects
quickly, as quickly as when there is no disk in the drive. I cannot
figure out what is happening with the drive, any help would be
appreciated.

How about deleting the drive from the Control Panel and have Windows
redetect the drive, and then run the Autoplay Repair Wizard? If you
still get the same error message, perhaps you replace the drive with a
known, functioning drive and see if the problem disappears.
