Hello,
I'm looking for a recommendation for a basic good but cheap video capture
card for Win2000/XP. My main interest at this point is simply being able to
capture VCR output and burn it to DVD, to save some of my old movies. (I
currently have Pinnacle Studio 8 and a firewire connection for capturing
output from my digatal video camera.)
Thanks,
Ray Mitchell

If your camera has analogue inputs, just use what you have. If not, the
least expensive route is probably the Pinnacle DVC-80 for easy
connection (small external gadget connecting on USB) and fully supported
by their s/w. It won't jump through hoops and give you record-breaking
quality, but it's cheap, simple, and better than your VCR can deliver. I
picked mine up as Dazzle - same device - at Radio Shack for $30.
