I'm a newbie to this cd burning stuff but have had a great deal of
fun burning my own cd's & trying to learn a bit about this amazing
technology as I go. I use Nero6 with my artec drive & have previously
had no problems, however recently, every time I burn anything to cd, I
get an error at the end of the process when the fixation step fails!
When this occurs on a multisession disk, I loose access to the
previous sessions (under my old Win98 OS, selecting properties would
allow me to select different sessions but I don't appear to be able to
do this with my new WinXP OS, after one of the aforementioned fixation
faliures).
Why should this same error crop up time after time? Can anybody shed
any light on any possible causes of repeated fixation faliures? Thanks
in advance for any advice that may point me towards a solution to my woes!!

It's most likely to be the media either not matching the drive and speed
choices at all or not holding precision when it heats up during writing.
In either case, you may be able to find more suitable discs or you can
just try writing DAO if you aren't doing so already.

If those don't work, you may have to look for less common causes
including hardware failure.

Why are you commenting on Nero, Mikey?

I have not used Nero
I don't know Nero at all

[...not use...not know...not write...]

I do not comment on what I don't know.
