CDRW problem

I have a GCE-8525B CD-RW drive. I run WIN XP Pro.
A few weeks ago I installed an old version of Creative CD Maker. I soon
realized my mistake and uninstalled it. However, the drive now refuses to
read any dick. Also, when I try Windows Exploere shows that the crive
changes from CD-RW drive to CD drive. It asks me to insert a Disc but does
not reconize it when I do. I've re-installed Windows but no luck. I could
not find anything on the Roxio site that is helpful I did download and
install a firmware update from the Goldstar site (GCE driveis a GL drive or
Goldstar)
Any one able to help me?

Mike, turned out that Iomega Hot burn had installed a bad value for
Low-Filter in the registry. I deleted that entry, and all is fine. Thanks
