Hi people:
I am having a problem with my CDRW, a sony 52x24x52. I used to record
CDR's with no problem at all at 40x however after some 2 years now,
seems like it won't record any CDR's with speeds greater than 4x.
Unlike CDRW's which I can record with no slight problem at all at 24x.
I tried changing CD Brand and I also tried installing Nero on Win XP
but the problem remains. I also tried re installing my operating system
but in vain.
What happens is that as I start recording, prior to filling the cdrom
buffer, the drive spins the disc for some time and then stops. The
spinning and stopping process repeats itself endlessly and no progress
is made. When I close nero, the CD still keeps spinning and stopping,
as if the drive is trying to access the CD ROM but cannot. This happens
with all CDR media i tried only when recording and thus it's not a CD
Brand Issue. To recover, I only have to reboot my computer and eject
the cd rom.
Any clues?
