CD ROM that blew up.

I have a Samsung Combo drive capable of reading/writing CDs and
reading DVDs. I inserted a CD into it and i was half way through
installing a game when i suddenly heard a 'pop' sound from my cpu. i
thought that something had gone wrong although OS was working properly
but for the game that i was installing.
I immediately tried to open the CD tray using 'emergency eject' as i
couldnt do so with the button. I couldn't open. But i could see shiny
bits of wafer like thing almost at every edge of the cd rom drive.
Can somebody tell me what i should do next ?

Anyone ever have this happen? My son was playing a game from CD-rom
when we
both heard something break. I was across the room and asked him where
it came
from and he pointed to the tower. I opened the door to the drive, and
the
game CD was shattered into literally hundreds of pieces. I had to take
the
drive out and shake all the pieces out for 30 minutes before it would
work
again.
