Readable CD disk

I get this message "CD is read only" I am burning a CD In DVD drive.
I was able to move some files to the disk without the message
appearing. What amy I doing wrong? Hpw do I make the disk readable
without losing any files on it? Thank you.

I used my computer, went to the file in My Documents, used the copy
se;ection to transfer to the DVD Burner drive. I also have Roxio ver
6 on the computer and I am having a difficult time using it. When I
try to save to the DVD burner drive my computer freezes and I have to
do an end task. Very frustrating.

Are you on Winxp? What's the model of the burner? Do you have
Drag-to-Disc installed? Are you burning to CD-R or CD-RW? Is the CD
formatted? What are the exact, detailed step-by-step procedures you
used to transfer the files?

Iam using winXP Pack 2. I am writing to a CD-RW. I have aBenq burner
8/4/12/24/10/40. I used My Documents. Highlighted the file and went
to copy file. Then highlighted the DVD drive and clicked send. Some
other files were tranferred so i suppose the disk is formatted. It is
a CD_RW Memores 4X 700mb 80min/ Hope this is of some help. Thank

Memorex cd-rw is not known as quality disc and Drag-to-Disc especially
has trouble with it. The "read only" issue is not uncommon problem with
Drag-to-Disc (or DirectCD). And there's no solution. (After recover
the files with IsoBuster, try reformat the cd-rw. Also inspect the
drive to see if it's dirty.)

See what IsoBuster says about the cd-rw:

If IsoBuster shows "udf" in the left pane, you need to register it to
recover the files.
