The correct answer is no. The cable modem is always connected to the
network. If you tell the RP614 that it does need to logon then it
will try to logon but will always fail as the cable network does not
need a logon!
**what is your account name?** (i have tried my username, and my username@blueyonder.co.uk) **what is the domain name?** (the notes advise this is your isp domain, so blueyonder.co.uk) **internet ip address - get dynamically or use static** (i leave it as get dynamically) **dns server information - get automatically or specify** (i leave it as get automatically) the final option is to set the router mac address, which, as i mentioned, was cloaked as the computer nic mac address.

That's correct.
you are then asked to test the connection, which in theory should direct you to netgear.com, instead i get the generic 'page cannot be displayed' message. if i check the router status page back at 192.168.0.1 i can see that an ip address and subnet mask has not been obtained from blueyonder.

If the RP614 has not been able to logon (because it does not need to) then
it won't get an ip address. Tell it not to logon and things should
improve...
