I have 2 PCs, both running XPPro, both with NICs installed.PC1 has ADSL
connection which is fully functional. I have the network running between the
2 PCs.
LAN settings:
IP settings for the TCP properties on PC1: 192.168.0.1 / 255.255.255.0
IP settings for the TCP properties on PC2: 192.168.0.3 / 255.255.255.0
The file sharing is fine. I even have 2 printers running on the network. One
on each PC and shared. These operate fine too.
The problem is I've run the Network setup on both machines and that just
sets everything to 'auto detect'. So I changed the IP numbers to those
above. Then the file sharing works.
ICS is installed on PC1, If I r/c and properties of the dialup it shows
share connection in the adcvanced tab.
I've run the Network Connection Wizard on the PC2 but it doesnt specifically
list the 'Intel Pro 10/100' Network card anywhere throughout the setup
precedure....Should it?....It shows the network card from the PC1!...Is this
correct?
Either way the file sharing is okay....But the Internet is a no go on PC2.
Can anyone please help me???
Many Thanks
Neil
