With Novell, we could configure it so that when a print job was finished, we would get a printer notification to that effect at our workstations. This popup notification was much more effective than the printer icon that comes and goes in the system tray now. We're a very busy office and the popup which remained on the screen until we clicked on it would serve as a reminder that we had jobs waiting at the printer to retrieve. We can't seem to find a way to do the same under Client for Microsoft. Is there such a configuration or something in Windows or a third-party utility that will do this? I'm thinking of writing my own program to watch for the disappearance of the printer icon to prompt a popup notification, but would like to have to avoid doing that. Thanks, Don

The following will work on Windows 2000 and XP. Beyond that I'm not
sure.

On the client computers, go to your printer folder. Select File ->
Server Properties. Click the advanced tab and you should see an print
notification option.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Jason. I guess it's time for us to step up to Windows XP.
That didn't work on our client stations, all of which run Windows 98.
