Staples has a deal going on WGR614 router/access points. I bought one for
my DSL modem.

I need another wireless adapter for my Xbox. The cheapest wireless device
Staples has is the WGR614. If I buy a second one, will it operate as a
bridge for my Xbox? I am pretty sure it will work if I just put in the same
SSID but I am not 100% sure. Also, the 2nd access point could work dual
purpose as I could also plug my laptop into it using a standard cable.

Anybody done this before? Any tips appreciated.

Thanks,

No, it's unlikely to work as a simple bridge, because most of these things
you can't turn the routing function off. You'd have to divide it up into a
separate subnetwork.

Thats too bad, like I say, the WGR614 is cheaper than any other wireless
device in the store. I would rather buy another then pay $100 for a bridge.
I do have an email in to Netgear about this issue, I will post here when I
hear back from them.

Thanks,
