I uplinked another linksys hub to our linksys intranet
router about 6 weeks ago since all the ports where
full on the router and we added a node.
Everything worked fine for about 5 weeks and then
suddenly last week the newly added node cannot see
any other nodes including the network printer. We "can"
still see him but he can't see us. I checked all the connections
and cables and also the device manager stuff but everything
appears normal. Does anyone have any help ideas?
Also I have another question, I have the uplink cable installed
in the "uplink" port on both the router and the hub. And it worked
that way (at least for 5 weeks) so I left it like that. But someone
told me that they thought I should plug the uplink cable into a
regular port on the hub and the uplink port on the router since the
way I have it I cannot uplink another hub if I want to. Can someone
elaborate on this scenario?

If it's just a hub you should be able to plug it in any port on the
router. You didn't mention the model of your linksys router. You
might try and see if the node on the hub is getting a ip address from
your router.

Try pinging your routers ip address and see if you can see the router
from the node on the hub.
