Hello there, im looking to buy a router, to connect a cable broadband
connection to two pcs (will be growing in the near future) ive decided on a
wired network.
not sure which brand i should go for..as this is my first network. thinking
3com? linksys? Netgear? if anyone has any suggestions/pros/cons please say.
also is it worth going the extra mile for gigabit connection?

Thanks for all your help

Personally, I like Netgear, but all the ones you identify are well-known
name brands. My least favorite of the three is Linksys, but they're
part of Cisco now, so I may have to revisit them. Cable is nowhere near
gigabit speed, so it would only benefit LAN transfers -- your local
usage patterns will determine whether it's worthwhile (I would guess
probably not).

I'd say go for a D-link router, they seem to be the least trouble of the
whole bunch.
