View Full Version : loses DNS connection randomly

Windows 2000, this has been an ongoing issue for the past couple of months.
My computer seems to lose connection to the DNS randomly, and then it can't
access anything unless by direct IP address.
I've found a workaround which is to run the "ipconfig /registerdns" command.
However this is a workaround, need to get at the underlying problem.
I've noticed that from time to time that the little connection icon shows
that the connection goes down (cable down) for a split second and then comes
back again. After that the DNS is hosed until I rerun the ipconfig command.
