On my Windows XP Pro system I occasionally lose my ability to browse
the Web using ANY browser. I also canot check e-mail using POP3.
When this happens I can still pin domains and ips as well as FTP. DNS
looks ok.

I do not have any software firewall. I have Roadrunner going through
an SMC 7004BR router.

The partial loss of connectivity usually ovvurs about 10 minutes after
startup and then RETURNS after a while. Rebooting my PC does fix the
problem for a little while too..

Any ideas? I have done a spyware sweep with no evidnce of any issues.

Thanks

John M

I'm having a similar problem and was begining to think it was just me. My
computer is running a server and I have notice the problem happens even when
I try to display pages from my the server running on the computer in any web
brower IE and N7.

The only think I can think of is that this problem seems to happen when
pages take a long to time to reply - when a server is looking up a database
for instance. I don't know what your processor speed is like but mine is
400MHz just enough to run the operating system and no more don't know if
this may be the cause of the problem. It seems that the systems is too
impatient .... there may be a way to increase the time a browser take to
time out but I have no idea how.

Sorry can't be more help.

Kieran
