Recently I experienced one problem with my Duron/OPENSTEP 4.2: the PCI
Soundcard no longer work as expected. The boot messages followed:

Mar 31 22:16:55 localhost mach: SoundBlaster16PCI: found chip, VID
0x1274 DID 0x5880 rev. 0x02
Mar 31 22:16:55 localhost mach: SoundBlaster16PCI: I/O Port at 0xa000
IRQ: 255
Mar 31 22:16:55 localhost mach: SoundBlaster16PCI: Can't set
interruptList to IRQ 255 (Resource Shortage)

Why the IRQ had been assigned to 255?

This soundcard still works with Win/XP but I did see some abnormal
message when BIOS was booted; something like hardware failure of an
interface card. This message went away but my Duron/OPENSTEP turned
muted.

Can someone share some ideas?

Thank you in advanced.
