It seems so basic, yet Intuit doesn't want to have anything to do with
it. They created both file formats but don't supply their customers
with a utiltity to convert from one format to the other.

Can someone please tell me how I can easily convert a .qfx file to a
.qif file ?

BTW, I'm using Windows.

Thanks!

Intuit did not "create" both formats; they were part of
consortium that created the OFX format; surely Microsoft is at
least as an important member of that consortium. Does Microsoft
offer a utility to convert OFX to QIF?.

Perhaps Intuit did not write such utility because there is no
significant demand for one, to say nothing of the fact that
going from ofx to qif is a step backward, and to say even less
still of the fact that Intuit has the intention of virtually
eliminating qif files.

However, I did find mention of something called ofx2qif at this
site:

http://libofx.sourceforge.net/

But I had trouble following links there to get more information
about it.

Thanks John for the info.

I've been inquiring about QFX to QIF.
Is OFX the same as QFX?

Thanks. Eric

I do not have any inside info on this; but my intrepretation is
that QFX is basically OFX with a few Intuit bells and whistles
added. I also suspect that if you had an OFX to QIF converer,
it would convert QFX to QIF as well ... but it is just a guess.

I would think that either: the manufacturerer would be able to
tell you before purchase, or you could get an arrangement that
would allow you to test the product on a QFX file and return it
if it did not do the job.
