Dear Agh777,
If you have experience more than 3 years, the course will only give
you the link "How ISEB it pronounce vs. your experience".
All the questions at the ISEB foundation are based on the ISEB
foundation Sylabus which you can download from BCS_UK (ISEb site).
If you find the subjects in the sylabus are common knowledge, the
changes are reasonable you can pass.
My experience is still that placing the links "How ISEB it pronounce"
might be different than your experience.
eg. the testingphases of the V-model are Programtesting, integration
test in the small, systemtest, integration in the large, acceptance
test and maintenance test.
The book of Erik van Veenendaal (Testing practitioner) give you a good
lead.
in addition of scates and Zungmonkey: You always need to do the ISEB
foundation before you are allowed for the exam ISEB practitioner.
Regards,
Edvliet

Yes this is true. The foundation certificate is a prerequisite to the
practitioner certificate.
To be honest the foundation certificate exam is pretty easy. Its a 1 hour
40 question multiple choice exam. Obviously doing a course is advisable as
they (the course provider) should provide you with course material that
relates directly to what is asked in the exam. But if a course is not
possible then as EdVliet said -- get the testing practitioner book by van
Veenendaal as this should give you a good base. This book will also assist
with study for the practitioner exam. Link to book below
