We are currently working with Rational Robot but have been considering
Mercury Internationl Quick Test Professional. I am trying to find
information that would compare both tools. Our team is looking for an
automated testing tool that will provide:
Ease of use (no in-depth programming)
Easy recognition and capability of working with generic objects
Verification of dynamic data (comparison against a database)
Thank you.

I understand that you wish to have an easy to use C/R tool.
I have found that eValid (www.soft.com/evalid) is easy to use (easier than
Robot and WinRunner), does not require programming (though you can do
programming if necessary), and gives a better return on investment than more
expensive tools such as the ones you mentioned.
What's more, as it is a browser, you get the results that the user really
experiences (including error messages, use of cookies etc) instead of having
to skip that portion of the tests.
A second advantage I see is the ability to capture and replay ANYTHING the
user can see/interact with without having to purchase aditionnal components
to take into account a specific development language or protocol.
Dynamic recognition is available as well as database checking.
eValid provides a comparison with other tools (here is the link to
Quicktest's comparison)
