Hi Gurus ,
I have couple of desktops which has no problem with discoverer apart
from one .
The os is windows xp, all of them are at the same sp level. The
problem with discoverer is , upon startup it crashes with error
message:
Oracle9i Discoverer Desktop - version 9.0.2.0.0 has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
AppName: dis51usr.exe AppVer: 9.0.2.39 ModName: mfc42.dll
ModVer: 6.0.8665.0 Offset: 0000f9eb
I have checked the mfc42.dll version , it is same with other running
machines.
Is there any one who have similiar problem? I have checked metalink ,
and found suggestions to install service pack , but sp level is same.
There is also another file produced by crash , it contains memory map
of the dis51usr.exe . It points an offset insode mfc42.dll , but as i
said before replacing this file has no effect. I also tried
uninstall/install oracle but again it did not solve the problem.
Kind Regards,
hope

Looks like lack of (virtual) memory. MFc42.dll is a Microsoft dll and
has nothing to do with Oracle.

Good chance it should be Oracle's version...
