Hi, I am unable to install Oracle Developer Suite 9.0.2 with Oracle 8.1.6. I
am hoping that some kind person would tell me why.
The steps I took are as follows:
-Downloaded Developer Suite from Internet and unzipped
-Started Universal Installer
-Set source path to %Developer Suite Home%stage\products.jar
-Set dest name to "C:\Oracle\Ora8"
-Set dest path to "C:\Oracle\Ora8"
-Click next
-Select "Rapid Application Development" option
-Click next
Then the install program crashes, without any message. Any suggestions would
be gratefully received.
Thanks.

This is purely a guess... but perhaps you're trying to install to an existing
oracle_home installation (ie. Oracle 8.1.6... C:\Oracle\Ora8)? You need to
install the iDS to it's own, new oracle_home (ie. C:\Oracle\iDS).

Thanks Jeff, I set home to a different folder (as you suggested) and also
used setup.exe instead of the Universal Installer and seem to have installed
successfully.
Thanks again.
