Hello
I would like to know what happens bewhile a normal startup of oracle
(installer configuration, 8i, windows 2000). Dows anyone know a website
where startup single steps are listet? (Means which services start when,
which processes etc. )

You should look at the 'Database Concepts' Manual (a96524-01). It
describes all the server and background processes very well. But all
the over themes also covered quite good so the most people here will
recommend that manual.
