View Full Version : slightly OT: need some quick advice
My boss is hiring a new accountant and I'm supposed to determine her
computer hardware/software needs. She has requested Peachtree and
something called Creative Solutions. Now we already have QuickBooks Pro
2002, and I know that Peachtree is a similar program, so I'm thinking
that I might suggest that we just see if she can adapt. But I have no
idea if they're close enough for her to make the transition without
difficulty. And I'm also not entirely sure what Creative Solutions is
all about, but it looks like some sort of tax software.
So my question is... do you think that QuickBooks Pro 2002 alone can
handle everything that Peachtree & Creative Solutions can combined?
Or, from an accountant's point of view, would it just be easier to
simply scrap QuickBooks and get the software she is comfortable using?

Hey Matt,
What, to you, looks like similar programs, are not at all the same to an
accountant. Especially when you get to Creative Solution product line. I
would not even bring up QuickBooks to an accountant unless you like to see
their eyes roll back into their heads. You can speak to the accountant, but
I suspect she has very definitive reasons for her choice, beyond the fact
that she is familiar with them.
