Hi
I am using Forms 6i for Backup and Recovery operations Using RMAN.
With regards to this, there are two databases (DB1 and DB2) running at
a time, one of the datafile belongs to database DB1 was corrupt.
I have a backup of this datafile which belongs to database DB1, which
I take using RMAN via Oracle forms 6i.
When I initiate the forms 6i. I used to give the service name of
database db2 in order to run forms 6i. It is my requirement.
Now I want to recover the corrupt datafile, which belongs to DB1 via
connecting to Database DB2 on forms 6i.
But on forms run time I am not able to select the corrupted datafile
for recovery purpose, because when I click the button on forms it
displays all the datafile of Database DB2.
And the corrupted file is belongs to database DB1.
I know I am connected to Forms 6i using the connection of Database
DB2, that’s why on run time it displays all the datafile of DB2.
With this regards, could some one inform me or give me the solution
that how should I display all the datafiles and then select the
corrupt files for recovery purpose from the database DB1 on forms via
connecting to database DB1.
Problem: How should I display the datafiles of Database 1 on forms
screen via connecting to Database 2.
Thanks
David

What is the source of the information 6i is currently using for datafile
names? Are you using dba_data_files or some other source?
