View Full Version : Dead AKF60

Help please!

My AKF60 monitor died today, having been intermittently blacking out
for a week or so.

Whe it was simply playing up the screen would turn off and
the clicking sound it makes when it changes mode would happen.
However, today it died completely and the clicking was non-stop at an
interval of about half a second.

I've (temporarily) replaced it with the even older AKF18 from my
A5000, but this solution is far from ideal.

A few questions:

Is it likely my ten-year-old AKF60 is repairable?

If not, what's a good cost-effective replacement?

Are there any monitors I can't use with my RPC?

Will using the same modedef files I used for the AKF60 damage my
AKF18? If so, what modedefs can I use?

Any other help or advice most welcome.

Specs: RPC 600 (now StrongArm), RO 3.7, 2Mb VRAM... I think those are
the relevant details.

TIA,

Liam
