View Full Version : Quick Books 99
I went to reinstall Quick Books 99 on my Windows 98SE machine.
Quickbooks is telling me it can't read the data file, it is in
a newer version. The file was creatd in this version and
used in this version.
Also it is looking for a registration number. I called the
number it suggests on the start screen, it says the number
is not valid.
Am I out of luck? Do I have to either convert the
files over to MYOB or upgrade QuickBooks to a later
version? Any hopes of even getting this
registration number without being charged $10,000
by Intuit? Will they charge some outrageous
figure to either force me to upgrade to a later version
or switch to MYOB?
I seem to recall Quick Books 99 would periodically update
itself automatically. I tried that, it didn't want to see
the high speed cable internet access.
So is my Quck Books 99 CD now just an expensive
frisbee?
You can't open the file because of the updates you had downloaded previously. You're on the right track, problem is that 99 is no longer supported so you can no longer update online. However you can download the final update from the QB website and "manually" install it.
