View Full Version : How do I Categorize the Quicken Bill Pay Transaction?
Every month a transaction for 9.95 is downloaded to my register for
the Quicken Bill Pay service. This transaction is uncategorized, but
I want to categorize it. Is there a way to have this done
automatically, or do I need to manually categorize it each month?

Assign the downloaded transaction the category you want; save it
(press or click Enter); right-click the transaction, left-click
"Memorize Transaction". (You don't have to wait for the next
download if you have already categorized one of these
transactions correctly; just find it and memorize it as above).
In order for a Memorized transaction to affect future downloaded
or manually entered transactions, you must have "QuickFill"
correctly configured. In
Edit > Preferences > Quicken Program > Register > QuickFill
(the Q2004 path) you must have "Complete fields using previous
entries" and "Recall Memorized Transactions" both checked.

Thanks, John, but with the new download this month it once again failed
to categorize it.
