Howdy folks. A friends of mine just upgraded his 8260 from Win95 to Win98
and somewhere along the way he lost the driver for the built in ethernet
posrt. He's using the USB port temporarily for his cable modem, but we'd
like to free up that port. Does anyone know what the specific driver to get
the ethernet port working again? Thank you.

Trey,
According to the info on the HP web site, the 8260 did not have an Ethernet card
or built-in Ethernet connector when shipped from the factory. Somebody
somewhere installed it. Best to examine the Ethernet card itself, figure out
what Ethernet chip it uses or what brand it is, then download drivers for it.
