Hi Ben,
Many, many thanks for the advice.
I see what you mean about the cheap plastic bits. I'd done my research on
the internet but I'm a touchy feely sort of chap so went along to my local
PC World and had a play.
I finally settled on a 2300L. Much more solid and robust and well worth
the extra £140 for a 2x faster processor and 2x more memory.
My printing now flies off the machine -- no time to put the kettle on
while the old girl (LJII) thinks about it.
Even though she's broke I'm still loathe to get rid of her, but my wife
says we can't store any more stuff in the spare bedroom and she's got to
go :-(
