Pavilions are known to be somewhat picky about the type of RAM that they will recognize. Chances
are good that this is the problem. Not a bad RAM stick, just a picky HP machine...luck...

news:31lNa.35920$3o3.2629074@bgtnsc05-news.ops.worldnet.att.net... my friend has this pavilion, i had an extra 128mb pc100 single sided stick that i added to the extra dimm slot and it only saw it as 64mb. total he has 128mb now instead of 192. what gives?? the HP site says it supports 256mb for each dimm slot. i know for sure my stick is 128mb, i've been using it for years now. http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/document.jhtml?lc=en&docName=bph05963
