The software installation begins and proceeds evenly until I read a point where it asks to plug in and turn on the 2110. Every time I plug in (USB and power) and turn on the 2110 unit the computer/Windows XP shows new hardware found and then it shuts off and reboots. I don't mean shuts down, I mean shuts off as if there was apower interruption. The reboot, found hardware, and shut off sequence continues until I unplug or shutoff the 2110 unit. The unit copies stand alone with no problem. I actually installed it to another computer that belongs to my daughter and had no difficulty. Ithink the 2110 is working properly. This seems to be a really nice piece of equipment and I'd rather not have to take it back. I have tried downloading the newest version of the PSC 2000 installation software and numerous other options (different USB cables, plugging into different outlet, etc.) with no change. I am thinking that this is some sort of a USB problem. If anyone has any suggestions for resolution, I will be grateful. TIA, CharlieDoes your PC have a VIA chipset by any chance? In any case, make sure yourUSB drivers are right up to date.If you still can't get it working with your PC you could try a cheap USB PCIcard and that should solve your problem. 4 port USB cards can be bought verycheaply these days.Dave
Take a look at this chip set doc published by HP.
It is a laserjet doc, but should apply to PSCs,
1. GOTO www.hp.com.
2. In the search box type bpl11671 and ENTER.
3. The doc's title should pop up.
4. Click on the title and the doc should pop up.
5. If you want to print the doc, chick on printable version in the
upper right and then print it.
BTW I found a PSC registry scrubber when I was uninstalling my PSC720
camera software and my PSC2210 printer software.
PSC720 says do not install software from another PSC.
But my PSC2210 has a newer version.
So I install it on top.
It didn't update the older version.
Both products worked fine.
When I updated WinME using Windows update, my PSC software caused
problems.
It wouldn't stay unchecked in the System Configuration Utility,
Startup Group.
So I uninstalled what I could.
Deleted the HP directory.
Deleted files in Windows Temp.
Ran Windows Disk Cleanup..
Ran Norton Utitilies Systems Check and Optimization Wizard.
Ran the scrubber.
Ran Norton again.
Installed only the PSC2210.
Tested the PSC720 camera upload - successful.
Tested the printer - successful
Now most of my problems are over.
Still get MATCLI coming up when loading the printer and it freezes my
pc sometimes.
I think I will uncheck the PSC entries in System Configuration Utility
and that will probably stop that.
