The internal drive bays in a K Series are Fast Wide Differential -
also known as High Voltage Differential these days; in olden days, HP
just called it fast-wide because it figured no-one would do fast wide
single-ended... Also, Low Voltage Differential will not work. (Not sure
that there would be LVD 2GB drives, but figure it is best to be
complete...)
You can also find NSE - Narrow Single Ended HP-PB HBA's that you could
plug-in to a K Series - to those I think you could in theory connect
current generation LVD/SE mechs - of course, they'll only go at 5MB/s
on the NSE bus :)

a wide gulf separates "what if" from "if only"
these opinions are mine, all mine; HP might not want them anyway... :)
