Hi all
I am planning on buying a camcorder in the next few weeks and need to ensure
that my system can connect with it.
Despite contacting the HP web site - I still have no answer - so I turn to
my trustee newsgroups for help.
Does my HP 453 Pavilion have a firewire port - oh and where on the back on
the machine is it located??
Thanks
Steve

Steve,
Possibly the easiest way to answer the question is to look at the list of
devices in the Device Manager within the System icon of Control Panel. If you
see any device labeled "Firewire" or "1394", you've got it.
The fairly recent Pavilions I've kicked around do not have Firewire. You can
always install a Firewire PCI card. They are inexpensive... Ben Myers

Some camcorders even come with the card, wiring, and software.

My 'fairly recent' 733.uk has one port front, one back. However 'fairly
recent' in this case is already an older model.
Two models I looked at in PCW today also had at least front mounted ports.
