View Full Version : 832c desjet color printing problem
My 832C deskjet which has been trouble free for two to three years has
suddenly started printing in a redish pink tone. It no longer prints the
color of the page, and except for some black print is aggravating. I
changed the cartridge which has red, blue and yellow inks. Any idea what is
wrong with the printer? It even fails the hp printing test for the color
boxes on the test.

Most likely it is the cartridge, not the printer. Check the cartridge
expiration as shown at the following:
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/printers/support_doc/bpa02014.html If the
cartridge is an original HP and still within its warranty then contact HP or
your dealer or HP for a replacement. When buying cartridges look for the
"install by" date on the package. I would look for cartridges with at least 6
months remaining before the "install by" date.

In addition to 'Bob Headrick's' sage advice, I might add that you look at the contacts that the
cartridge seats against. Are they discolored or corroded? If so, wipe them with a 'soft' pencil
eraser or a Q-Tip dipped in alcohol (be careful not to drip), wipe off all residue that may remain
from the cleaning process and retry...just a thought...luck...
