I have a simple XP Pro home network with 2 PCs using TCP/IP ethernet via a
crossover cable. Occasionally I need to access the LJ4000 connected to the
PC in the next room. This PC is little used and as an alternative to
booting it whenever I need to use its printer I decided to buy a 600N
print server.

The model I bought cheap on ebay is a J3112A which I now know is intended
for a token ring network. Is there an easy way to make this work on
ethernet?

Tom

Tom,

Token-Ring and Ethernet are incompatible technologies. The J3112A cannot be
used with Ethernet.

Once you get a JetDirect Ethernet card, you'll also need to add a network hub to
handle three network nodes. And some Cat 5 STRAIGHT cable... Ben Myers

Thanks for your response Ben. I'll buy a J3111A Ethernet card.
