We recently purchased an HP-724c P4 from Tiger Direct with
the intention of making it a server only machine. It came
with XP home.

We want to eliminate any un necessary baggage, from the
Hive Run key or Services mode.

Here is a list of what in the run key now:

autobar.exe
blocktracker.exe
hkcmd.exe
hpsysdrv.exe
kbd.exe
nwiz.exe
ps2.exe
recguard.exe
hpgs2wnd.exe
hpqcm.exe

Most of this looks like Hewlett Packard drivers that
may not be necessary and could be safely eliminated.

Is anyone here knowledgable about these files
and can advise whats needed and whats not?

TIA
Red

Perform a search for your computer's model number on the HP web site.
See document > Preventing Programs from Opening When Windows Starts
