I just learned, that the new PSC 2410 is able to be operated in a
network - including scan and -more important- FAX functions. Now the
question comes up: Is it possible in any way to upgrade the PSC 2210 to
have computer FAX function? Does anyone heard about a firmware update
possibility?

Please post the details or location for details for allowing network
fax & scan support.

What is the street price of the PSC 2210? If it's a typically inexpensive
inkjet-based device, do not bet on any firmware upgrade, ever.
