I have a LaserJet 4 Plus and a J2555b JetDirect card. I've got the card
installed in the printer now how do I set it up so I can use it on the
network. I have an IP address for it. I can't find anywhere that has a
manual or instructions. I've looked on HP's website but can't determine
exactly what to do. Little help please!!

Patrick,

1. Remove the JetDirect card and write down its MAC address.
2. Download HP's Network Printer Wizard (NPW), install it and run it.
3. When NPW wants to search for printers, enter in the MAC address which NPW
will use to find and access the card.
4. Use NPW to set up the card with IP address, subnet mask, etc.

Network Printer Wizard is one of the few well-designed pieces of software coming
from HP. Must have been written by contractors or not your usual HP software
hack writers. It really is pretty slick. I've used it often on my own network
and on clients' networks.

There is also a web-oriented version for the Windows NT series of operating
systems... Ben Myers
