Hi
HP Pavillion a170uk, Pentium 4 2.4ghz 256 ram, realtek 8201 fast
ethernet, internal adsl modem, 80 gb hd.
Does anyone know the make of the internal adsl modem used in this
machine. Reason I ask is relative decided to repartition and reformat
the drive on the above machine without any thought about files on
recovery partition which is now gone. Now I'm left to sort out the
problem. I can't find any files on the cd apart from a couple of pdf
files and a exe which does nothing.
I have put XP Pro on his machine, got everything up & running ok
except the adsl modem.
In the device manager I get yellow question mark against ATM Network
Controller and SM Bus Controller. I've been to HP site looking for
drivers but cannot see anything regarding the above, also tried MSI
mobo site but cannot see anything about ATM controller drivers or SM
Bus.
Can anyone offer any advice please, apart from giving my realative a
good slap :-))
