OK!

I have a Gateway2000 laptop that I'm about to erase the HD from, and I
was wondering if it is possible to use the HP Pavilon Home PC System
Recovery Discs with Windows ME to install a new OS. I guess my
questions are 'can I do it', if so, 'how can I do it' and 'will i need
to get a bootable WinME floppy first'. I know it says on the CD that
it "can ONLY be used with an HP Pavilon PC", but can I expand the
images on the CDs first, and then just copy it, or what? Please help.
TIA

It won't work. There is a chip in the BIOS that only will recognize GATEWAY
CD's.

yea, this is true.

i found out so by converting all the images in WinImage and then
booting off those floppys - all i get is a message saying that these
discs are intended for HP Pavilion PCs only and that you must restart
