View Full Version : Panel type of LCD monitors HP L1825/1925?

I am trying to decide between the HP 1825 and 1925. Of the 1925 I have
heard only the best, especially about the size and stability of the
viewing angle it provides which is due to the Fujitsu MVA panel it
uses. However, this size of monitor seems to me a waste of space (and
money) as the resolution is the same as that of a 17 or 18" panel,
while the larger dot size, I suspect (so far I've not seen one in
reality), may even lead to a worse picture quality than eg with an 18"
monitor.
So my main question is: Is my reasoning correct? And more important:
Can I assume that the 1825 uses the same type of panel as the 1925?
(The HP technical information obviously sees no point in going to that
kind of detail.) Is there a price to pay for the 'benefit' of the
smaller size, such as outdated technology (the 1825 seems to be the
older model), higher power consumption or anything else?
Thanks for anybody's help. Claude
