Hopefully there are a few list members with experience with Remedy's Action
Request System...

As a curiosity, What are the bare minimum specifications(processor, RAM,
disk space) required to run an Oracle 8.1.7 database and Remedy 4.5 or 5.x
on an HP9000? FWIW, I have a few HP9000 G30, E25 and E55 systems lying
around and am wondering if any of these machines (E55, perhaps) are
suitable.

Thank you for your help.

We ran the Remedy ARS on a K260 with 4 CPUs and 2 GB RAM. We eventually
upgraded to a L2000 with 2 440 MHz CPUs and 2 GB ram and then to 4 CPUs.
It did run better on the L than the K. Depending on the number of users
that you have will determine if the servers you have are adequate. At
that time we had less than 300 hundred that could access the product.

I'm thinking that Oracle 8.1.7 may need 11.x. I know that we loaded 11.0
on a G system. My suspicions are that you will need a decent amount of
memory and a patient user community with these older servers.

Disk space started out with about 56 GB for data and a 4G disk for the
application. When we upgraded to the L, the amount of available disk
space was over 144 GB, of which about 50 - 60 GB was allocated for data.

IIRC, Remedy is a dead product. Which is why we abandoned it. Plus we
needed a product that could support at least 25K potential direct users.
