Hi,

Does any of you know the way to let an old HP Laserjet 3 printer print
his self-test (with memory-on-board and printed pages a.s.o.)

Thank you VERY much

Take the printer offline using the [ONLINE] button.
(-: Sort of like STOPping M$ windows by clicking on the [START] icon... :-)
Press and hold the [TEST] button until "05 SELF TEST" appears.

For a continuous self test:
Press and hold the [TEST] button _longer_ until "04 SELF TEST" appears.

Press and hold [ONLINE] for several seconds to terminate the self test.
In the case of a continuous self test, it may print a few more test
pages after pressing [ONLINE] and before the printer goes back on-line.

Take the printer offline.

Press and hold the Test/Reset button for a few seconds, until the display
shows "SELF TEST 05". Then release the button. The test page should
print in about 10 seconds or so.
