hi,

i have a old hp laserjet 3 with 1mb memory, i know you can expand to 5
mb.

i want to expand with a simms 1mb 30 pins or 4mb 72 pins the problem
is the pinout 48 from the hp printer

i have found out a lot but the contole lines are still missing

if someone has a exp board i knows how to find out the controle lines
or someone knows the hold 48 pinout

i will be very happy and start building my own board

It is really MUCH easier to find a 4MB add-in card for the LJ3 than to
experiment with doing your own, and possibly running the risk of ruining a
working printer... Ben Myers

Or you're too lazy to look?

I paid $15 dollars (CDN) for a 4meg expansion card for my HP LaserJet IIID a
few months ago.

You will NOT be able to fake a memory card for your printer.

4MB LaserJet III memory boards have sold at prices between $US 20 and $US 25 in
the last month on eBay. Even if you pay another $US 20 for shipping, you would
be buying a tried and proven solution. Attempting to add 30-pin memory runs the
risk of ruining the printer completely, IF you can find out the accurate
technical information you are seeking.

Also, the memory boards for the LaserJet III and III-D are different from the
ones used in the LaserJet II, so do not bother buying the latter... Ben Myers
