View Full Version : HP DLT40 LEDs Blink - Can't See Tape

I have a HP DLT40 tape drive on a Windows NT version 4 sp6a server that
refuses to recognize a tape (any tape).

A backup copy filled the first tape during a nightly backup. NT Backup
requested a second tape. Putting in a second tape and pressing "OK"
results in a "No tape in drive" messagebox.

The three LEDs on the right side of the drive flash constantly.

I have turned the drive on and off... rebooted the system... tried other
tapes... inserted a cleaning tape... nothing makes NT Backup recognize
that there's a tape in the drive.

Any ideas? I looked for a HP DLT KnowledgeBase or something like that but
couldn't find one... Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks, Ben...
