Do Photosmart Cameras Charge Thru USB

(note, I'm simply an end-user of a Photosmart 812...) In general it
would be good to state which of the many Photosmart camera's you have.
However, my understanding is that the cameras do not charge off the
USB.

Also, with my 812 at least, even when in the docking station, which
will charge the batteries, if the camera is "logically connected" to
the computer (ie the computer has the camera mounted/online/whatever)
it does not charge. That one tripped me up a few times when I first
started using my 812 with my home iMac.
