Presario 2566AP Conexant 56K ACLink Modem Update

Hi,

I've recently purchased a Compaq Presario 2566AP and have found it
just what I need.

Like any good user I like to keep it's software up-to-date, so I am I
wrong in thinking that updated drivers should do good?

I recently applied the SP23037 update to the Conexant 56K ACLink
Modem, but from then on my connection speed is hardly ever above
31.2Kb

Has anyone else experienced this?
Am I better off trying to roll back to the old driver?

Any clues
