View Full Version : HP PSC 2115 USB connection
Does anyone here have experience of flakey USB connections;
specifically that the connection is reported as broken by the scan
button (which won't work) but is clearly OK as I can still actually
scan (from Photoshop) and print (from anywhere)!

Mark,
Potentially a defective PSC 2115. Or a bad USB cable, or a bad USB port, or
just plain lousy software... Ben Myers

Sorry Ben you got it wrong. What could actually have gone bad is that
the software was not installed first and the inbuilt drivers from the
windows XP was installed because the usb cable was plugged in first.
This can cause such a problem to occur whereon the front panel scan
button does not work...

If the HP documentation was not followed, and it said to install software first,
then I agree with your assessment... Ben Myers

Nope, everything was done "by The Book", plus I have followed all the
suggestions from HP Support (who don't seem to know much about their
own software ie which modules run, where they appear etc!) and still -
everything fine up to and after the first reboot when istalling
everyting and then (after another reboot ie next day maybe) - no
scan-to funtionality.
