I've got an HP ze4500 laptop and am trying to use TV Now to display
via S-video onto my TV. I connect a new S-video cable between the
computer and the TV's S-video input, press the TV now button and the
TV screen flashes before the computer complains, "There was a problem
enabling TV mode. Check the TV cable and try again." I take the
S-video cable off of the computer and put it on the back of my DVD
player and the player displays on the TV just fine.

I don't know if this is relevant but whereas the S-video ports on the
TV and computer (and DVD, for that matter) have 7 holes, there are
only 4 pins on the cable. Is the computer trying to do some
handshaking with the TV that would occur on the other 3 pins?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Chris

OK, I'm an idiot. I rechecked and found that there are only 4 holes
in the DVD and TV S-video ports. So, what's the deal with 7 on the
laptop?
